A few months into my role at TEDCO as the Digital Marketing Coordinator, I was encouraged to write about one of the organization’s five core values – accountability, collaboration, integrity, respect, and stewardship – and why I think this value is so essential to Maryland’s ecosystem; I decided to focus on collaboration. 

The FLLIP Pilot Program will be a collaborative effort between TEDCO and the Frederick Innovation Technology Center, Inc. (FITCI) to address the challenge of helping entrepreneurs and small businesses approach and navigate federal laboratories to allow for collaborations that will enable entrepreneurs to develop innovative solutions for healthcare challenges and grow their businesses. 

LASARRUS, based in Baltimore, Md., is a company dedicated to advancing device-enabled solutions for remote monitoring of COPD patients. This mission led the company to develop WearME. This innovative wearable integrates a digital stethoscope, motion tracker, and optional ECG and temperature sensors, uniquely focused on precise lung function monitoring to address the critical needs of COPD patients with unparalleled accuracy and convenience. 

IPGen is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that seeks to streamline and automate aspects of the various IP processes for anyone involved. IPGen provides a multilayered, end-to-end IP lifecycle management platform, with layers built for various users including entrepreneurs, university tech transfer and commercialization, law firms, freelancers and investors; these layers sit on top of the core product and aim to simplify the substantive work for each.
